![]() ![]() In other words, and to tie into the Daikatana reference: This here makes me think that the designers have not played a real tactical game aside from perhaps X-Com (seriously doubt they took notes from Sir-Tech.), nor even either of the original Fallout games. The original creators put the easter eggs in with the time they had left over, or before that, when it wouldn't hurt the integrity of the game. Again, Interplay or the people that they've licensed to, are too busy worrying about extraneous bullshit to concentrate on making a good, solid game. ![]() Instead of going out and seeing what other people are doing and surpassing it, they've regressed to a laughable level. This is comparable to handing a 5 year-old a box of Crayolas and then having them go reproduce a Monet. The game WAS promised to be a good tactical experience and be in the Falllout Universe. The only difference here is that Tactics was shoveled out in under 2-3 years, and there was no Romero to call us his bitch. LAST EDITED ON Mar-28-01 AT 08:35PM (GMT)More or less the Daikatana of tactical games. The only thing left to do now - is bitch and moan. Then the original fallout came out and I never even went to Message Boards to chat - to busy playing! ![]() game is nice, but nowhere as nice as Fallout 1 Demo. Gameplay is like Fallout but with 6 people, yet the story was massacred and was called "tactics". The reason I like JA2 better for "tactics". The only challenge become levels where enemy gets a clear line of fire and little cover. Rinse and Reapeat and you've cleared yet another level. Third: Turn based combat that utilised by Fallout becomes more like cheating - find a corner, duck, pop out, squeeze a round and duck without taking any damage. You can't plan tactics in the world that is not consistent! Some baricades will "blow up" after a burst with AK47 - some are impossible to blow up with rocket launcher. ![]() Second: in the enviornment that can't be destroyed, same action (like setting dynamite at the wooden doors) will not work depending on the importance of the object to completing objective, not its build. Standing in the middle of the street blasting when there is sufficient cover two steps away is absurd! Well, I've got to say, "It's not really tactics, either".įirst: you can't call the game where you can't adjust the way your character reacts in real time mode. Everybody knows what makes this game "not Fallout" - but what people say is, "Hey, it's because it's Tactics!". ![]()
